World Parkinson’s Day

World Parkinson’s Day is observed annually on 11 April. It raises awareness about Parkinson’s disease, supports those living with it, and highlights the importance of research and understanding. In the workplace, FOH teams can focus on education, empathy, and fundraising.

Cost-Neutral

• Use newsletters to share key facts about Parkinson’s, symptoms, and support resources.

• Encourage tenants to wear a blue ribbon (the awareness colour) to show support.

• Share stories of individuals living with Parkinson’s who inspire others.

Mid-Range

• Set up an information table in reception with leaflets from Parkinson’s UK.

• Highlight Parkinson’s charities and how tenants can support or donate.

Top-Range

• Invite a Parkinson’s UK ambassador, medical professional, or someone with lived experience to speak.

• Organise a sponsored activity (e.g., step challenge, bake sale, or quiz) with proceeds going to Parkinson’s charities.
