World Mental Health Day
The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health. The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide. https://www.who.int/campaigns/world-mental-health-day

Idea from Hammersmith Grove:
In celebration of World Mental Health Day on October 10th, we teamed up with the café to showcase their new menu, offering residents a taste of what’s to come.
We also took the opportunity to chat with residents about their favourite ways to unwind. Responses varied from cozy baths and cheat meals in comfy pajamas with a glass of wine in front of the TV, to maintaining regular gym routines, healthy eating, and enjoying fresh air with a walk after lunch. Each person had their own unique way to destress, which highlights the importance of self-care.

Idea from 4 The Square, Stockley Park:
We decided to recognise World Mental Health Day by encouraging people to look into the daily positives in life. We asked our tenants to write down something that made them smile today or something they are grateful for. By answering the question, they got to choose a prize/gift of a pen, stress ball or wrist band that had a positive message. They also had an opportunity to participate in a scavenger bunt where they had to find hidden ‘positive tomato’s’ that had a little message on them. Our tenants loved the event with many saying it made them feel happy and loved and they wish we had something like this regularly.
