National Grief Awareness Week
December 2, 2025 - December 8, 2025
National Grief Awareness Week takes place on Tuesday 2 December to Monday 8 December 2025. It is marked on the same dates each year regardless of the day of the week.
What is National Grief Awareness Week?
National Grief Awareness Week aims to raise awareness of grief, and to help to normalise conversations around it.
This year the The Good Grief Trust has chosen the theme ‘Shine a Light’. The theme aims to highlight the people, places and projects across the UK supporting people who are experiencing a bereavement. The Good Grief Trust offers help and support to people in the UK who have been affected by grief.
Cost-neutral:
- We can use this time to check in on those who we know are missing a loved one this year.
- Organise a coffee and a chat, encourage tenants to go out for a walk during their breaks.
- You can also shine an orange light as a way to remember those no longer with us.
